Dublin Airport experienced the busiest September in its 84-year history last month.
Almost 3.1 million passengers passed through the two terminals, up 4 per cent on the same time last year.
22,800 flights took off and landed at the airport during the period.
The airport operator says it's moving closer to exceeding the 32 million passenger cap, despite efforts to dampen demand.
daa Chief Executive Kenny Jacobs says the number of flights would have been much higher if they didn't have to comply with the limit.
"Ryanair has announced they're going to be reducing their schedule at Dublin. Other airlines have announced that they're going to be making cuts. So, it is happening while we're speaking. Airlines are moving capacity elsewhere.
That's not good for jobs. That's not good for connectivity. It's not good for Irish tourism and it's not good for the Irish economy".
The busiest day of the month was Sunday, September 1, when 119,570 passengers went through the airport’s two terminals.
The top destinations were London Heathrow, Amsterdam, Malaga, Faro and Manchester.
