Dublin City Council has christened a bridge in Drumcondra after a 19 year old UCD student who was executed during the war of independence.

Frank Flood was hanged in Mountjoy in 1921 following an IRA ambush in the northsde village.

He’s one of ‘The Forgotten Ten’ who were buried in unmarked graves at Glasnevin Cemetary.

Lord Mayor Mícheál MacDonncha unveiled a plaque in his honour at a naming ceremony yesterday, which was attended by members of Frank Flood's family.
