A man has been arrested after drugs worth €1.63 million were seized in Dublin.
155 kilos of cannabis resin, and 35 kilos of herbal cannabis, were seized when Gardai and revenue officers stopped and searched a vehicle in Clondalkin yesterday, as part of an intelligence led operation.
A 33 year old man was arrested and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Ronanstown Garda Station where he can be held for up to a week.
The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).
It's part of ongoing investigations targeting people suspected of involvement with an organised crime group operating in the Dublin and Meath area.
