The drugs problem in the city needs to be made a political priority again.
That’s according to the Citywide Drugs Crisis campaign who say budget cuts are having a serious impact on community and voluntary schemes that help addicts.
Anna Quigley from Citywide says Dubliners need to put pressure on politicians, especially in the run up to the local and European elections.
"We do need people again, particularly as an election is coming up, to start raising the issue with their candidates. We heard today, politicians respond to pressure so we need the politicians to hear from people that it's an issue that concerns them."
