Gardaí are continuing to investigate a scam, that has seen the bank accounts of mostly men on nights out, being cleaned out.
Officers say it's a particular problem in Dublin, while it's thought there could be as many as 100 victims.
A gang based in the capital is believed to be behind this crime that targets men in particular, who may be drunk or vulnerable, and are trying to get home after a night out.
Fraudsters are either befriending or using other forms of deception to identify the victim's PIN number and steal their phone so they can take money from their online bank account.
Gardaí say they may have been offered a lift or got into a bogus taxi.
A number of searches have been carried out in the city recently in connection with the crime and stolen property recovered. Two men aged 18 and 21 have appeared in court charged in connection with the investigations.
The Irish Independent reports there could be up to 100 victims, with over €300,000 stolen from bank accounts.
Gardaí are advising people to make sure their passwords and codes for Apple Pay, Revolut etc, are all different and completely different to the PIN to access their phone.
