The Republican candidate declared victory earlier, and the numbers now sit in a way which would make impossible for Democrat rival Kamala Harris to overtake him.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Micheál Martin, says the Government looks forward to working with Mr Trump's new administration in a 'constructive manner', as it did during his previous administration.
