Lifeguards at one of Dublin's most popular beaches say they're working under extremely dangerous levels of staffing.
They've raised concerns about substandard equipment and having to deal with unruly beachgoers on drink and drugs.
The report from lifeguards working at Dollymount Strand-Bull Island outlines a litany of issues including poor or broken safety equipment including radios and binoculars.
Concerns were also raised about a shortage of defibrillators according to the Irish Times and a rescue quad bike having a flat tyre for almost two weeks.
They say only three lifeguards have been recruited this summer despite the city council saying seven is required, while a rescue boat was described as being so heavy that it was difficult and dangerous to launch.
The report says over 200 first aid incidents were dealt with in June alone, stranded boats were refloated while hundreds of accidents were prevented.
