A number of defects have been found at one of the largest housing developments in the country.
Some work on the affordable housing project at Oscar Traynor Road in Coolock has been paused over a failure to comply with building regulations.
The flagship scheme includes the delivery of 853 homes over multiple phases and follows a deal between the developer Glenveagh and the city council in 2021.
Speaking at last night's monthly council meeting, Independent Councillor for the area John Lyons described a report into the issues as a "bombshell".
The local authority's Assistant Chief Executive for Housing is Mick Mulhern. He says problems on site were flagged with the developer in October or November last year by the Council Building Control section;
"What does all of this mean in terms of a delay or an impact? We're hopeful that it's minimal and at the moment what we're doing is trying to finalise exactly what works are needed."
