Date Confirmed For Stepaside Garda Station To Reopen

The long-awaited reopening of Stepaside Garda Station will happen next month.

It will only be open to the public from 7am to 9pm every day, but the station will provide 24/7 cover.

One sergeant, 15 gardai and a roads policing unit will operate from the station when its back up and running on March 9th.

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris made the announcement during the Dún Laoghaire/Rathdown Joint Policing Committee meeting yesterday.

Outgoing Transport Minister Shane Ross had campaigned for the station to be reopened.

It brings the number of operational Garda stations in the country to 567.
