Dublin Airport is facing into a financial crisis, and has a ''fundamentally flawed'' pricing structure that needs to be reviewed.
That's according the daa's incoming chairman. Basil Geoghan will appear before an Oireachtas committee later and tell politicians the company lost €284 million last year.
He will say airport charges need to be reviewed as the financial future of the group is under threat.
The daa operates both Dublin and Cork Airports.
Eoghan Corry, editor of Air and Travel Magazine says the DAA was unhappy with the charging system even when passenger numbers were strong;
"They were grumpy enough about airport charges even back in 2019 but given the scale of their losses and the fact it's pegged to 2019 figures which won't be achieved for quite some time to come, they certainly have cause to complain here."
