The number of people cycling into Dublin is up 87 percent in 7 years.
A snapshot of commuting in Dublin last year recorded a total of 9061 cyclists travelling into the city.
It was up 14 percent on the previous year and up 87 percent since 2006.
The increase reflects a number of measures to promote cycling including the Dublin bike scheme, cycling lanes and public awareness campaigns.
However with that comes increased risks, figures show that 5800 bikes were stolen in 2013.
