Prices for accommodation in the city over St Patrick's weekend are being heavily criticised.
A hostel in the north inner city is charging almost 1,200 euro for three nights in a bunk bed sharing with seven other men.
While a hotel in the west of the city is charging around the same amount.
Fine Gael Cllr. Danny Byrne says it's embarrassing.
''It's extremely bad for our international reputation when someone comes along and says....maybe we'll go to Dublin for St Patrick's Day...well welcome to rip off Ireland.''
Cllr Byrne is now calling for price gouging legislation to be introduced.
