Staff absences at Irish Rail because of Covid has resulted in a number of trains being cancelled.
Around 20 Phoenix Park Tunnel and Heuston Commuter services will not run between now and Friday.
Temporary service alterations, Tuesday 4th to Friday 7th January 2022:
- 06:12 & 07:19 Newbridge to Grand Canal Dock
- 06:30 Carlow to Heuston
- 07:35 Newbridge to Heuston
- 08:17, 10:32, 12:35, 17:30, 17:52, 19:32 & 21:35 Hazelhatch to Grand Canal Dock
- 15:08 Newbridge to Pearse
- 07:26, 09:11, 11:30, 16:28, 16:59, 18:40, 20:30 & 22:30 Grand Canal Dock to Hazelhatch
- 13:30 & 18:17 Grand Canal Dock to Newbridge
Spokesperson Barry Kenny says the normal weekday service, after the Christmas and New Year timetable alterations, resumes from today, but has been hit by disruption: "There are a number of cancellations: about 20 trains in total, mainly on that Grand Canal Dock to Newbridge/Hazelhatch service.
"And as well then a 6.30 from Carlow to Heuston and one of the services from Newbridge into Heuston as well.
Normal weekday service resumes Tues 4th January.
However, due to current COVID-19 & close contact absence levels, some Phoenix Park Tunnel & Heuston Commuter services will be cancelled Tues 4th to Fri 7th January

"Like every employer, like every service provider at the moment, with the number of cases that are in the country... it isn't something that we can escape.
"And we just have - particularly in Heuston at the moment - a number there that means unfortunately this is unavoidable."
