More than 12,000 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Ireland across the Easter bank holiday weekend.
While today, there were also 2,419 further cases reported overall: 778 PCR-confirmed cases and 1,641 positive antigen tests through the HSE portal on Monday.
On Monday the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) was notified of 1,668 PCR-confirmed cases and 1,351 positive antigen test through the HSE portal the previous day.
Easter Sunday saw 852 PCR-confirmed cases of the virus - as well as 1,270 positive antigen tests registered the previous day.
While on Saturday, the HPSC was notified of 1,666 PCR-confirmed cases - and 1,459 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal on the Friday.
And on Friday April 15th, there were 1,788 PCR-confirmed cases of COVID-19.
While 2,013 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal last Thursday.
As of 8.00am today, there were 750 patients hospitalised with the virus - of whom 44 were in ICU.
