1,586 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed today, an increase of 527 on yesterday's figure.
298 patients are in hospital with virus - 56 of which are in ICU.
This comes as the Chief Medical Officer is urging people to continue following public health advice as we move into the winter months.
Measures include wearing masks while in retail or hospitality situations and on public transport, as well as staying at home if you have cold-like symptoms.
As we move into the time of year where the weather isn't going to be as good and being out and about all of the time is a bit more difficult, it’s important that we continue to be mindful of the public health advice. pic.twitter.com/1EXn6vF4VB

Dr Holohan says as people spend more times indoors its important to stay mindful of public health measures:
"Unfortunately we're heading into that time of year where being out and about all of the is a bit more difficult, the weather isn't going to be as good and it's important that we're really mindful of the kinds of risks that are important for us to try to avoid.
"So as we meet up indoors we need to try and be conscious of the extra measures we can take to protect ourselves."
