The first TD to be elected to the next Dáil has been announced.
Fine Gael's Jennifer Carroll McNeill has topped the poll in the Dun Laoghaire constituency, taking the honour.
Votes are still being counted across the country after Ireland took to the polls in the general election yesterday.
There are 49 dáil seats up for grabs across the 12 constituencies in Dublin. Turnout in the capital appears to be down on the last election in 2020.
Tally figures show Gerry 'the Monk' Hutch is in contention to become a TD. He's on 9% of first preference votes in the Dublin Central constituency according to the unofficial figures.
Overall it's looking like a bad day for the Green Party while the larger parties have cause for optimism. Deputy leader Catherine Martin looks likely to lose to the Social Democrats in Dublin Rathdown.
Sinn Féin has a very real chance of being the largest party in the next Dáil. It's looking like it will pick up seats in a number of Dublin constituencies as well as Galway East and a second seat in Waterford.
Fine Gael's new candidates have also performed well and it looks like the party will hold most of its seats and maybe pick up a handful.
Fianna Fáil will still be in the mix but is facing a harder day. Health Minister Stephen Donnelly is in real danger of losing his seat in Wicklow.
Some constituencies like Wicklow and Wexford are clear cut with one for each of the larger parties.
Others like Dublin South Central have eight or nine candidates genuinely in play for four seats.
