There have been two more deaths and nine additional cases related to COVID-19.
There has now been a total of 1,740 coronavirus-related deaths in Ireland and 25,498 confirmed cases.
Dr Ronan Glynn, Acting Chief Medical Officer, said: "Ireland’s 14 day incidence of COVID-19 is now less than three cases per 100,000.
"This is amongst the lowest in Europe and demonstrates that the disease remains suppressed in our communities.
"The key to maintaining this status is responsible individual behaviours and avoiding any complacency."
He added: "HIQA’s report on mortality today demonstrates that we have comprehensively recorded deaths relating to COVID-19 in Ireland by following the recommended WHO approach.
"We have consistently recorded and published data on all deaths where a person had COVID-19 or was suspected to have COVID-19.
"This reporting gives us a robust understanding of the impact of the disease in Ireland and continues to inform our response."
New figures from HIQA show that there were between 1,100 1,200 more deaths during the height of the pandemic than would normally be expected.
The report also shows that the number of deaths rose by 13% between March and June.
The official coronavirus death toll for the same period was 1,709 - however, the health watchdog said that figure included people who were infected with the virus but may have died from other causes.
The HIQA report compared data from death notices on RIP.ie in previous years to the number of deaths reported this year.
