Coronavirus: Seven Further Deaths And 400 New Cases In Ireland

There have been 400 new cases of coronavirus in Ireland.

An additional seven COVID-19 related deaths have also been reported.

Two of those deaths occurred in April, two in March and three in February.

Of today's new cases, 162 were in Dublin, 61 in Kildare, 26 in Cork, 21 in Galway, 17 in Donegal and the remaining 113 cases spread across 18 other counties.

The five-day moving average of new cases now stands at 408 cases.

Figures released by the HSE earlier today showed there were 226 COVID-19 patients in Irish hospitals.

Of those patients, 55 were in intensive care.

The figures come after it was confirmed earlier today that the one-millionth vaccine dose has now been administered in Ireland.
