Health officials are reporting a further 380 confirmed COVID cases this evening.
Last night, there were 38 patients in hospital – a 28% decrease on the same day last week.
There are 13 patients in intensive care for the fifth day in row – two fewer than last week.
The HSE continue to be affected by the recent cyberattack and the daily case figure “may change due to future data review, validation and update.”
The five-day moving average in Ireland has risen to 322.
It comes as restauranteurs warn that it is “absolutely immoral” for the Government to leave pubs and restaurants waiting for a decision on the return of indoor dining.Indoor reopening is due to go ahead on July 5th – alongside the easing of restrictions around household visits, weddings, organised gatherings and indoor fitness training.
However, several ministers have been sounding a more cautious note in recent days, citing concerns around the Delta variant - causing fury in the hospitality industry.
Meanwhile, the Taoiseach has said health officials will consider giving the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to younger people.
Micheál Martin believes the Delta variant had changed the "balance of risk" when it comes to using those vaccines.
He said rules limiting the two vaccines to the over-50s may need to change to keep up the pace of the roll-out through the summer.
