Students who are commuting miss out on 'huge aspects' of the college experience.
That's according to the President of TU Dublin, who says they miss out on the likes of clubs, societies and a social life.
Professor David Fitzpatrick told the Irish Times that students are commuting long distances rather than moving into digs.
University of Galway Student's Union President Sai Gujulla says it's something they've seen more of in the last couple of years:
''Students have been waking up at 6am and getting into their cars to try and make it for 9am. And some students don't have cars so they have to take public transport which is inefficient.''
