Denis O'Brien's Communicorp Group is set to buy eight regional radio stations in the UK.
The stations, which are part of the Global radio group, have nearly three million listeners.
The radio group says it plans to re-brand some of the stations.
Communicorp which owns 98fm, says the deal will bring the total number of stations in its radio group to 27.
