A man in his 40s has been arrested after cocaine worth €92,000 was seized in Finglas yesterday.
Gardai spotted a man acting suspiciously in the Hampton Wood area at around 5.30pm, and when they approached him, he ran away.
He was arrested a short distance away and was found to have cocaine worth over €78,000 and a digital weighing scales on him.
A follow up search of an apartment in the Balcurris Park East area of Ballymun led to the discovery of €14,000 worth of the drug.
The man is being questioned at Ballymun Garda Station, where he can be held for up to a week.

A garda statement says: Gardaí seized over €92,000 of suspected cocaine and arrested one man following a number of searches conducted as part of Operation Tara in the Dublin 11 area on Sunday, 27th November, 2022.
At approximately 5:30pm, Gardaí from the Divisional Task Force Santry observed a male acting in a suspicious manner in the Hampton Wood area of Finglas.
When approached by Gardaí, the male fled the scene on foot. He was arrested a short distance away and taken to Ballymun Garda Station.
The man, aged in his 40s, was found to be in possession of a large tube containing suspected cocaine with an estimated value of €70,000. Approximately €8,120 of suspected cocaine was also located in a small vacuum packed bag and seized, along with a digital weighing scales.
Gardaí later conducted a follow-up search of an apartment in the Balcurris Park East area of Ballymun where approximately €14,000 of suspected cocaine was seized.
The total estimated value of the suspected cocaine seized is €92,120. All of the drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
The man in his 40s is still being detained at Ballymun Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
