The Irish Coast Guard has rescued a swimmer in difficulty in the sea in Howth this afternoon.
The rescue centre received a 999 call reporting a person in difficulty off a beach known locally as Hidden Beach near the Baily Lighthouse.
The coastguard is reminding people to take care near the water this weekend, and to contact them if they think somebody is in difficulty in the water: "We encourage people to take care near the water during the Easter weekend and to contact the Coast Guard at 999 or 112 if they think they see someone in trouble. Also if possible and safe to do so to remain at the scene until help has arrived."
