ESB Networks says a large power-outage in Clondalkin in Dublin was caused by an underground cable fault.
More than 2,500 buildings in the area lost power for close to two hours this afternoon.
There have been a number of faults in Clondalkin in recent weeks, affecting homes, businesses and traffic lights.
In a statement to 98FM News, ESB Networks said:
"At 2pm this afternoon, approximately 2,500 customers in the Clondalkin area lost electricity supply.
ESB Networks were immediately dispatched to carry out repairs and supply has been restored.
This outage was caused by an underground cable fault."
Clondalkin residents have reported about one large power cut a week for the last few weeks.
ESB Networks says it expects today's "repair work should now rectify that situation".
