Cleaners Win Case Against South Dublin Council

A group of low paid cleaners at South Dublin County Council have won a bid to keep their "working in the rain allowance".

It's worth 2 thousand euro a year to 27 staff.

The council had argued that the payment was outdated as workers were provided with protective clothing.

However the Labour Court dismissed attempts by the council to abolish the allowance.
