3.5 million cigarettes, as well as tobacco, worth €3.8 million have been seized at Dublin Port.
The cigarettes, branded 'Richmond', were labelled as engineering components and 3.9 tonnes of 'Old H' branded tobacco was labelled as confectionery.
Both shipments originated in Germany and Revenue officers made the discovery today as a result of routine profiling.
Investigations are ongoing.
