Over the past ten years, 40 priests in Dublin have been investigated over child safety concerns.
That's according to a new report into Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin.
The figures showed that the Church's child protection watchdog gave 27 of them job restrictions or bans.
The new Children's Minister Charlie Flanagan says child safety is paramount..
"Lessons have been learned and we need at all times to be vigilant to ensure that we have adequate and proper care and safety for our children."
