Almost 300 children were subjected to experimental drug trials at mother and baby homes in Ireland in the 1960s and 70s.
In one of the trials, at 5 Dublin care homes and orphanages in the 1970s, 80 children became unwell after allegedly being given a vaccine intended for cattle.
The news comes as the Government decides what powers and scope a potential inquiry into mother and baby homes could have.
