One of Dublin’s busiest roundabouts is getting a make-over.

Walkinstown Roundabout has six different roads feeding into it and these changes planned for next summer will benefit cyclists and walkers.

Tim Mullen from South Dublin County Council says motorists will also see improvements as well:

"We've straightened up the entry angle and exit angle so it kind of controls the speed of traffic entering and exiting off the roundabout that will make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists. It'll also control the flow on the roundabout so that you get better gap acceptance".

"One of the problems with the roundabout at the moment is that it's very high speed circulating so it makes it very difficult to identify a gap for you to get onto the roundabout".
