A major change for traffic in the city centre is now in place.
From this morning all private cars are banned from College Green as the new bus corridor goes 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Local business groups say issues around deliveries and waste collections are still unresolved.
Private cars will now have to use alternative routes.
Head of technical services at Dublin City Council is Brendan O'Brien. He said: ''There is well known diversion routes around the area so it's not a huge change for people. Most people would have known how to get around the bus gate in the hours of operation so now it's simpler I suppose in one sense. It's just saying there isn't a time when you can pass through the bus gate.''
There's no time when you can drive through there.
