Much loved Comedian and TV writer Caroline Aherne has died aged 52, after a battle with cancer.
Her publicist confirmed the sad news this afternoon.
The Royle Family star and GoggleBox narrator was forced to take time off the show earlier this year while she received treatment.
Aherne, had been battling lung cancer and had also previously been treated for bladder and eye cancer.
She played Denise Royle in The Royle family and also co-wrote the show with Craig Cash and Phil Mealey:
She was the narrator of Gogglebox.
Caroline was also a regular on The Fast Show.
And hosted The Mrs Merton Show in the 90s.
