A man has been arrested after more than 30 kilos of herbal cannabis worth €610,000 was seized at Dublin Airport.
Revenue officers stopped and searched the luggage of a passenger who had come in on a flight from Frankfurt in Germany yesterday.
A man in his 30s was arrested and taken to a Dublin Garda Station where he can be held for up to a week.
A spokesperson for Revenue says: "Yesterday as a result of routine profiling, Revenue officers seized 30.5kgs of herbal cannabis worth approximately €610,000 at Dublin Airport.
"The illicit drugs were discovered when Revenue officers stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Frankfurt, Germany.
"A man in his 30s was arrested and taken to a Dublin Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
"Investigations are ongoing."
