There are calls for a city wide strategy to target drivers who park on footpaths in the city.
The issue was raised at Dublin City Council last night where councillors said it's making life difficulty for people with disabilities and those using buggies.
Other councillors said drivers often don't have a choice but to park on the footpath, especially when making deliveries.
Parking on the footpath is an offence but there are calls for it this to be enhanced.
Councillor Janet Horner raised the motion saying something needs to be done to stop it. She says she sees it a lot with delivery drivers.
''I have seen wheelchair users sit and have to wait on the footpath while one of the pizza groups uses the footpaths to park up their vehicles to loads up their pizzas and drive off again. I don't think it's acceptable that it is common practice for businesses to continue to do that.''
There's a group on Twitter called Dublin 8 Blockers that highlights bad parking in the city.
The Executive Manager of Traffic at Dublin City Council, Brendan O'Brien, said an education campaign may be needed show people what harm it causes. He said the enforcement officers can't be everywhere to stop people parking on footpaths.
Councillors have now passed a motion for a report to be made to the Transport Committee to develop a strategy to tackle the issue.
