The Ana Liffey Drug Project is calling for mobile clinics to be set-up to allow drug users to inject in a safe environment.
The national addiction service says offering supervised medical and support services for users will benefit Ireland's towns and cities as well as addicts themselves.
It's launching its annual report today which shows an increase in demand for its services as it expands into other counties across the country.
