Votes are being sorted in count centres across the country after Ireland took to the polls yesterday.
There are 49 dáil seats up for grabs across the 12 constituencies in Dublin. Turnout across the capital appears to be down on the last election in 2020.
The nationwide exit poll for this election shows a tight contest between the three largest parties.
Ballots are being sorted in the 32 count centres.
Early tally figures have Sinn Féin, Fine Gael and Fianna Fail all on between 19.5 and 21 per cent support. Independents have 14.6 per cent of the vote.
While among the smaller parties the Social Democrats lead at 5.8, Labour at 5, Greens at 4, Aontu at 3.6, Sol PBP at 3.1 and Independent Ireland at 2.2.
Housing was the biggest issue of the campagn according to the exit poll at 28 per cent followed by health and cost of living.
