The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus.
In a tweet, Mr Johnson said he had “developed mild symptoms” of COVID-19 over the past few days and has now tested positive.
Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.
I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.

He said he is now working from home and self-isolating.
In his Twitter video, he said: “That is entirely the right thing to do but be in no doubt that I can continue, thanks to the wizardry of modern technology, to communicate with all my top team to lead the national fightback against coronavirus."
He also took the opportunity to thank frontline workers fighting the virus, noting that there has been “an amazing effort from the public service.”
Earlier this week, Prince Charles also tested positive for the virus and is currently self-isolating in Scotland.
