Gardaí are investigating the discovery of the body of a woman in South Dublin.
The woman, who was in her fifties, was found dead at a house in Firhouse yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to a house on Woodlawn Park Grove at about half past one.
Upon arrival, they found the body of a woman in her late fifties who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Coroner and office of the State Pathologist were notified and the remains were taken to Tallaght Hospital's mortuary.
Dr Marie Cassidy is due to carry out a post-mortem examination later today.
Gardai say they're keeping an open mind at this stage and will await the results of that post mortem before deciding how to proceed.
Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
