A body has been discovered in unexplained circumstances in Ballybrack.
The discovery of the remains of a man in his 40s were found at a home in Cromlech Fields shortly before 3 o'clock this afternoon.
The body remains at the scene, which is currently preserved for a forensic examination.
The services of the State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau have both been requested.
A garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí at Shankill have commenced an investigation following the discovery of a body in unexplained circumstances this afternoon, Tuesday 13th December 2022, in Ballybrack, County Dublin.
"Shortly before 3pm, the body of a man in his 40s was discovered in a residential property at Cromlech Fields, Ballybrack. "The body of the deceased remains at the scene which is currently preserved for a forensic and technical examination. "The services of the State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau have been requested. "Enquires are ongoing."
