The long-awaited Oireachtas banking inquiry finally gets underway today.
The committee of seven TDs and four senators will meet to begin discussing the inquiry's terms of reference.
The government says it won't apply the whip for committee votes but it's expected to take weeks, if not months, to agree to the terms of reference.
