Plans for a 'super' depot for waste, housing and road maintenance in Ballymun in Dublin have been given the go-ahead.
Dublin City Councillors agreed last night for the central facilities to be developed, despite an increase of almost 50 percent in construction costs.
The land which will be freed up from existing depots will create space for over 700 social houses.
Local Independent councillor, Noeleen Reilly, says it will be great for the area:
"It will be a state of the art facility right on our doorstep, but also the land that is currently there at the moment is a huge source of anti-social-behaviour and illegal dumping."
