A man in his 40s has been arrested following the theft of a car in Dublin with a baby and a nine-year-old child inside.
It happened in Cabra on Sunday where a family left their car running briefly and it was taken.
The incident happened on St Attracta Road area shortly after 7pm.
The 10-month-old child was left at the side of the road, after the car thief realised the infant was in the back seat.
He watched as a man and a woman left the car engine running, and briefly went inside their home.
At the time, their two children were in the car and the child who is around 9, managed to jump from the car before the man sped off.
However, the carjacker didn't realise there was an infant strapped into the back seat.
Shortly afterwards the child was left in its car seat on a footpath and the carjacker continued driving.
