Aviva is to increase the price of its health insurance premiums by almost 13 per cent.
The increase will come into effect on March 23rd.
It's the second price increase announced by Aviva this year and follows premium hikes by other insurers
Aviva says it's as a result of the Health Minister deciding to charge private patients if they are given a public bed when they're admitted to hospital.
The latest increase means an extra €760 in annual costs for a typical family.
