A City Councillor is going to attempt to reverse the decision to develop a €22m white water rafting course in the docklands.
Since Councillors backed the attraction earlier this month, there have been widespread calls for the money to be spent on things like homeless services instead.
Those behind it say the George's Dock course will be used by locals, tourists and emergency services for training.
The €22m attraction was initially estimated to cost around €11m to build, when it was first put to Councillors.
Fine Gael Councillor Danny Byrne doesn't believe it would be money well spent.
"People are sick and tired of things like that rising hugely in cost", he said.
Although, he has admitted if the project is stopped, its €22m budget can't be spent on homeless services.
However, he said "it can be spent on community initiatives like parks, play-centres and facilities for young people living in that area".
Councillor Byrne will be putting down a motion to stop the white water rafting course shortly.
He will need the support of 12 members to get it debated, and at least 32 signatures to reverse the decision.
