ASTI members have voted by an overwhelming majority to engage in industrial action.
It's in response to the plan by Education Minister Ruari Quinn to replace the Junior Cert with a new programme.
In a ballot of the union’s 17,000 members, 88 percent voted in favour of industrial action.
