A spike in burglaries on the south side has led to an increased gardai presence in the area.
Undercover officers including armed police are monitoring areas including Dalkey, Killiney, Ballybrack and Dun Laoghaire, as part of a national operation to crack down on crime gangs.
This system of surveillance involves mapping areas where burglaries are reported.
The patrols include under cover officers, armed gardai and they operate on a 24 hours, 7 days a week basis.
