A man is recovering in hospital after being shot in Ballyfermot yesterday evening.
It's the second shooting to take place in the area in recent weeks.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Lally Road in Ballyfermot after the victim was shot at around 8.45 yesterday evening.
It's believed the 26-year-old was shot in the back.
He was taken to St. James Hospital where his condition was last night described as "stable".
The scene remains cordoned off this morning to allow for a technical examination to be carried out.
This latest shooting comes just a few weeks after a father and son were shot outside their home at Clifden Drive which is just a short distance from Lally road.
