Drug use, crime and dumping is expected to force another Dublin laneway to close to the public.
Plans to shut off Swan Alley in Dublin 8 are to be published in the coming weeks.
The Liberties laneway has a narrow pedestrian entrance on Thomas Street, before opening into a wider space, connecting it with Hanbury Lane.
Local property owners have asked the city council to close off public access and erect gates to combat serious anti social behaviour and drug use that has been ongoing for many years.
The plans will go up for public consultation with councillors ultimately deciding whether to approve the closure or not.
It comes after public reps voted to shut off Harbour Court, a lane off Abbey Street, at the start of the year because of continuous drug use and dumping.
