Gardai are investigating the 5th car jacking in Dublin in just over a month.
It on Windmill Road in Crumlin just before midnight on Saturday.
According to the Irish Independent, a man armed with a baseball bat stood in the middle of the road close to Pearse Park forcing the driver to stop.
It's understood that two other men, one of whom was armed with a knife then ran from the park and demanded money from the motorist who was travelling alone.
The man who was said to be terrified told them that he had no money, abandoned the car and ran for help.
One of the carjackers is believed to have run away and the two others drove off in the car.
