Close to €100m in revenue has been generated from the Tom Clarke toll bridge since Dublin City Council took control of the crossing.

The bridge over the River Liffey has been in the hands of the local authority since 2016, bringing in €96.7m, according to a Freedom of Information request.

Drivers have been charged to use the bridge, which links Ringsend with North Wall, since it opened in 1984.

6.5 million vehicles crossed last year, bringing in €16m.
