The average price of a second hand home in Dublin now stands at €542,110.
There's been a 1.9 per cent rise in the cost of homes in the capital in the first 3 months of the year, according to figures from the latest residential market review by DNG.
The rate of residential property price growth in the capital in quarter one was more than double the rate recorded in the same period in 2023.
The strongest rate of growth in prices was in west Dublin over the first three months of the year, with prices there increasing by 3.7% on average.
That compares to increase of 1.6% on Dublin’s southside and 1.4% on the northside of the city.
DNG Director of Research Paul Murgatroyd said:
"We saw the rate of price inflation recorded by the HPG pick up in the final quarter of 2023 and that trend has continued into the start of 2024. First time buyers remain the most dominant players in the resale homes market at present, accounting for over half of purchases in the second hand market during the first quarter of the year in the capital."
